Friendly staff; large, clean room.
Maze of stairs and walkways to get to room.

This hotel is several miles off of I-95 and we had to call to make sure we weren't lost. The desk clerk was always friendly and helpful. The room was very large, clean, and comfortable. To get to the room though, we had to go up a flight of enclosed outdoor stairs, down a hallway with only hotel facilities with the doors open (such as laundry, ice machine room) and then down an outdoor upstairs walkway. It would have been a bit unnerving if I'd been a woman traveling alone. There are other rooms available that don't require this circuitous route. The complimentary breakfast area was in the lobby and had little seating. It seemed that the desk clerk was the only staff person. We would stay here again. ...read more

Efficient staff.
Size of breakfast area.

Hotel was adequate. Room sizes seem to vary, although we got a larger one. Staff was attentive to requests made for microwave, additional soap, shampoo, towels.

Decent room for the money.
Could have been cleaner, ashes on the bathroom floor.

Decent accomodations for the price.

It smelled like mold and mildew.

I was very disappointed. It was small and it smelled. I wouldn't even use the shower as the whole place creped me out. It's not that it was right out dirty it just smelled really bad. I couldn't wait to leave. ...read more

Clean, friendly, pet friendly and near variety of restaurants.

The Old Saybrook Days Inn was just what we wanted. Good accommodations, clean, very friendly and walking distance to several restaurants.

Nothing could possibly be liked about this hotel. It's like traveling in Africa
This hotel is like a hourly hotel

The light bulb in the bathroom was out, the hairdrier was broken and the fixtures look like it came out of National liquidators. And there was a used tampon still in the trash upon my arrival.

It was clean.
It was extremely far from mohegan sun. The maid walked in on us without knocking.

Close to McD's, Wal-Mart and a gas station.
Dirty.

The first room we were in the toilet leaked at the bottom all over the floor, the second room the bathroom was just plain dirty, hair in the shower, dust and dirt else where.

It was located in a safe place.
Smelled funny, should have been priced cheaper.

I liked where it was located because it was safe. The staff didn't seem very personable and the drive from mohegun was a but far. But overall the hotel is ok.
